PODS will inspire the next generation of environmental stewards through immersive educational programs aligned with school curricula and rooted in diverse local ecosystems. The facility will also serve as a dynamic collaborative research hub for universities, nonprofits, and First Nations, with a focus on marine and freshwater systems, climate resilience, and habitat restoration initiatives.

Year-round programming will attract visitors near and far, helping to build a more connected, creative, and supportive community rooted in shared experiences, local pride, and engagement with arts, culture, heritage, and nature. Collaboration with the shíshálh Nation will provide deep cultural context, meaningful partnerships, and essential steps toward reconciliation, inclusion, and mutual understanding on the Sunshine Coast.

As the Sunshine Coast’s first Net-Zero Carbon certified mass timber building, PODS showcases clean growth through sustainable design, renewable energy integration, and green transportation systems.
